Episode 133: Want To Start Your Own Magazine
Want To Start Your Own Magazine
Now, this might sound random to you, but have you ever thought about creating your own magazine before?
Maybe you’ve got that creative flair and you’ve always aspired to create something beautiful, like those glossy magazines you flick through.
The idea gets you all giddy with excitement, but then that voice in your head stops that dream almost instantaneously.
How can you create your own magazine? What if you don’t have any experience and what if it all fails?
So many questions and so many excuses pop up, right?
Well then, I’m so excited to introduce you to Olivia Marocco.
Olivia’s the founder and Editor-In-Chief of her own magazine called Brand You.
Brand You is a monthly magazine for female entrepreneurs which includes exceptional design, creativity, trends and learning.
The reason why I wanted to invite Olivia to the podcast, is to share her story as how she decided to start her magazine and I know it will inspire you so much, that you can also make the unthinkable happen.
So, here’s what we’re going to discuss:
- The creative conceptual journey of a magazine
- How to plan and organise with contributors
- What the editorial process should look like
- How to accumulate subscribers, brand ambassadors and fans
- Some of the difficulties you might face and how to overcome this.
